Pre-Peel Guidelines
Hello!
If you're reading this post, chances are you're considering a peel, so this is what you need to understand and do before you get one.
Make sure that you have not been exposed to excessive sun prior to treatment.
Make sure your skin doesn't feel irritated or sensitive on treatment day.
Inform your esthetician of all health problems, and all oral/topical treatments/medications, (i.e. Acutane) including Retin-A, Renova, and any other Vitamin A product. *All Accutane users must have discontinued the drug for six full weeks prior to peel.*
Always use professional judgement when considering appropriate %, time and pH.
Make sure you're informed of risks and possible complications, and that you understand the consequences of the skin procedure(s) you agree on.
Understand that in rare cases, it can result in adverse changes. Which leads to the next rule:
Except responsibility for you. An esthetician can advise only based on the information he/she is given. Make sure you're always honest to ensure the best possible results!
Make sure you're given post-peel instructions and follow them carefully.
When done properly, peels are a great choice for improving the quality and health of your skin!
Happy peeling!
