Post Peel Care Instructions
CHEMICAL PEEL AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Do not use hot water to cleanse for 48 hours.
2) Apply bacitracin ointment or special cream/gel provided by esthetician or physician 3 times a day for first 5 days.
3) Do not use creams that contain AHA's, Glycols, Retinols, or acid products for 48 hours.
4) You may splash cool water on face several times a day as desired, then pat dry, & apply ointment.
5) Most crusting/peeling occurs within 5-7 days.
6)After healing is complete, hypoallergenic moisturizers and cosmetics may be applied (usually 7-10 days after peel).
7) Apply 30 SPF or higher for at least 6 months after procedure.
8) Direct/indirect sunlight should be avoided completely for at least 24 hours after peel.
9) Never pick the skin as it is peeling. Instead, use a warm wash cloth to gently wipe & remove shedding skin.
10) Most discomfort is within the first 8 hours after the peel. Any swelling should dissipate after the first 3 days.
