Your Skin, Your Life
It's your skin and your life, so why shouldn't you make time to take care of it?
hmmmm.... is it because we're all focused on everyone else, everyday. As women, especially, we still mostly do the laundry, dishes, shopping, mothering (even when we don't have kids), baking, cooking, cleaning, animal care taking, and so on... am I right?
If I'm not, then you can skip this 'cause you probably have plenty of time to take care of your skin!!!!
Fortunately, times have changed and products have advanced to where taking care of our skin can be EASY. Everyday I have clients come to me with lots going on beneath the surface because they don't do simple things, like wash or even tone their skin before sleeping. They don't think they have time.
I'm here to bounce that rumor. So, here's some tips on getting your skin easily and efficiently clean, especially before bedtime... I'll offer more affordable options for people who can't afford to buy product....
1) Ideal: Wash your face with an exfoliating cleanser when you take your night shower/bath. You're going to wash everything else, right? Let's hope... ;)
Alternative: Wipe (don't scrub) your face with a warm washcloth for a mild exfoliation while in shower/bath (30 seconds)
2) Ideal: Tone your skin with a hydrating toner or additional exfoliator+toner using a cotton square or cotton ball.
Alternative: Use hydrating toner spray (3 seconds)
3) Ideal: Apply a moisturizer or restorative hydrating lotion around your eyes and emulsify/pat the rest around your face gently for extra moisture.
Alternative: Skip or gently dot eye cream of your choice under eyes (where we generally see wrinkles first - takes about 20 seconds)
I've just given you a way to rid yourself of most of the oil/bacteria/dirt in less than one minute and keep your skin hydrated, so no more excuses! If you can afford your favorite products, go for it!!! I like to! But if you can't, don't let this be the reason or excuse you don't care for your skin now. Be creative. I do that, too. There's tons of alternative/all-natural, inexpensive ways to help your skin out (will elaborate more on this in another post).
Everything you do shows up on your skin. Take control of your life now, and start doing little things that go a long way...
For love of skin,
